iWork gets a major update across the board

The three iWork apps -- Keynote, Numbers and Pages -- received a major update today. All three of the apps now have access to a library of "over 500 professionally drawn shapes" that can be used to enhance the documents you're working on, and those collaborating on iWork documents can reply to comments and join threaded conversations. In addition, Apple says that "new auto-correction and text replacement options save time while typing", and the Stock and Currency functions will return data from the previous market day's close.

iWork updates add real-time collaboration

In addition to the availability of Safari 10.0 and macOS Sierra today, Apple also updated the iWork suite of apps -- KeynoteNumbers, and Pages -- to version 6.0. The updates were hinted about during the September 9 keynote, when the real-time collaboration feature for iWork was briefly discussed. The iOS and iCloud.com versions of the apps have already received the collaboration update; today's update makes the feature universal.

As noted by The Verge, as part of the ordering process for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, buyers are given the option of adding a subscription for Office 365 — the only non-Apple accessory to appear in the order form. Apple should be pushing its own iWork apps (Pages, Keynote, and Numbers) instead.
