‘Many’ publishers reportedly sign up for Apple’s upcoming news/magazine subscription service

Apple is expected to debut a news subscription service on March 25. A Wall Street Journal report said the tech giant plans to keep about half of all revenue generated by publications selling subscription. That sounds like a really big cut, but Recode says “many” publishers have already signed up.

Apple reportedly talking with major publishers about inclusion in its Texture, Apple News apps/services

Yesterday it was reported that Apple had hired Liz Schimel, a veteran media exec who previously served as president of Conde Nast China, to serve as “head of news business.” Now re/code reports that the tech giant has been talking to some of the biggest newspapers in the U.S. about adding their stories to Texture, the magazine app/service Apple bought in March.
