Mosaiscope offers iOS users a powerful news reader, feed aggregator and more

To stay on top of what's happening in the world, most bloggers rely on the same tool -- an RSS feed reader of some sort that can grab all of the latest headlines and other news about specific topics and present it in an easily-scanned format. There are a lot of different ways to do this; Apple's News app allows users to enter and follow RSS feeds, and there are a plethora of RSS news readers available in the App Store. Apple News app may add a subscription service

Apple is working to make subscription content available through its iOS News app (has attracted more than 100 publishing partners worldwide since launching last September), giving publishers with paywalls a new way to control who sees their articles, reports Reuters, quoting two unnamed “sources familiar with the matter.”

Along with all of the Apple operating system updates today (four in total), there were a slew of improvements to some of the functions and apps associated with those apps. We'll cover some of those changes and other news:

  • The News app gets some updates for both readers and publishers
  • AT&T NumberSync means you'll be able to call from your iPad, Mac or Apple Watch... even when your iPhone isn't around
  • Mail Drop comes to the iOS 9.2 Mail app
