Architectural renderings unveiled for planned Chicago flagship store

Apple does an incredible job on its flagship Apple Stores. Think of the 5th Avenue store in Manhattan, the Zorlu Center store in Istanbul, or the Pudong Store in Shanghai, China, and you envision soaring glass shapes. Other stores get a more traditional treatment, but still show architectural prowess that's amazing -- look at the Stanford Apple Store, for example. The company unveiled plans today for a new flagship store that will be built on the Chicago River near Michigan Avenue starting in 2016, and it is beautiful.
