MacBook Air successor will reportedly use Kaby Lake processors (but I say it won’t be called a MacBook Air)

According to a translated report from Taiwanese publication Economic Daily News — as noted by MacRumors — the successor to the MacBook Air will pack an Intel Kaby Lake processor. Makes sense as the release of the Cannon Lake chip, which would have been a logical choice, has  been delayed again. However, the Sellers Research Group says the new laptop won’t be dubbed a MacBook Air.

TrendForce: Apple will only ship 2.89 million Mac laptops in quarter one

Market research firm TrendForce reports that the global notebook shipments for the first quarter of 2018 (1Q18) registered 37.27 million units, a quarterly decline of 15.7% and a year-on-year decline of 1.4%, influenced by the traditional off-season.
