Apple research and development spending is at all-time highs and the tech giant is spending the largest proportion of its revenue on R&D since 2003, reports CNET.
Apple’s R&D bill came out to 7.9% of its total revenue. The Cupertino, California-based company is on pace to spend over $16 billion on research and development in 2019.
Also, in a recent conference call regarding Apple’s latest financial report, Chief Financial Officer Luca Maestri hinted that R&D would continue to rise. He added hat the company’s $1 billion purchase of 2,000 Intel employees would require “upfront investment.”
