Apple, BBC working on comedy co-production for the Apple TV+ service

Apple and the BBC are working on their first comedy co-production starting Imelda Stauton (the Harry Potter and Paddington films) for the upcoming Apple TV+ streaming service.

Written by former stand-up Andy Wolton, the show has the working title Alabama and also features Darren Boyd (of the BBC series, Kiss Me Kate) and Phil Davis (of the Bleak House adaptation). Production on the comedy drama is under way and the “major eight-part series”will air worldwide next year on the tech giant’s new digital platform, according to Chortle. No details have been released.

This will be Apple’s 35th scripted series for its upcoming AppleTV+ service, due this fall.
