How to hide System Preferences panes in macOS High Sierra

Sometimes you may need to hide the Systems Preferences in macOS High Sierra to prevent unwanted changes (I’m looking at you, Laura Sellers). Here’s how:

Customize System Preferences.jpeg
  • Go to the Apple Menu and choose System Preferences.
  • Under the View Menu, click Customize.
  • Checkmarks will appear on all the System Preferences items/panes.
  • Deselect a pane and click Done.

If you later decide, you want to “un-hide’” a pane, just reverse the process.

(This how-to is based on my experiences and info on Apple's support pages — where the images sometimes come from.)
