Texture CEO John Loughlin has departed after the company’s sale to Apple, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Last month the tech giant scooped up the digital mag subscription service, acquiring the full company, including employees.
Texture, the “Netflix of magazines,” charges $9.99/month for access to 200 magazines. You can try it for seven days for free. Magazines offered include Entertainment Weekly, RollingStone, TIME, Reader’s Digest, Esquire, People, and Better Homes & Gardens.
Loughlin had served as Texture's chief executive since 2015. He told The Hollywood Reporter that he had informed potential buyers of his intention to leave the company following a sale and a brief transition period.
"Apple is an amazing company, but big, and I’m at the point in my life where working with smaller, faster, growing companies brings more satisfaction, risk — and excitement," Loughlin said.
