Apple Daily Report: new iPad Pros to support Face ID in landscape, portrait modes (and more news)

After going up for pre-order on Friday, Oct. 19, customers around the world are starting to receive their iPhone Xr shipments. 

Speaking of iPhones, the iPhone Xs series opened for pre-orders in South Korea on Friday. The Apple smartphones are the priciest yet, with the iPhone XS Max 512GB model costing 1.969 million won, or approximately $1,730, notes ZDNet. The iPhone XS 256GB model will cost 1.562 million won, and the iPhone XR 64GB model will cost 990,000 won. 

Darn it! In AT&T’s latest move to streamline WarnerMedia, Turner and Warner Bros. Digital Networks announced Friday that the FilmStruck indie, arthouse and classic film streaming service will shut down on Oct. 29. It was a streaming service I really like as a fan of old and non-mainstream movies.

As noted by 9to5Mac (https://9to5mac.com/2018/10/26/homepod-italian-support-october-30/), Apple has today released the HomePod in Mexico and Spain. With that, HomePod now officially supports Spanish, the first language outside of variations of English supported on the smart speaker. 

A group of cellphone buyers is urging the Ninth Circuit to reject Qualcomm's appeal of class certification of roughly 250 million cellphone buyers who allegedly paid overages stemming from the chipmaker's anti-competitive licensing practices, arguing that the company may only challenge certification after the suit runs its course, reports Law360.

Yay! As noted by AppleInsider, the iOS 12.1 beat confirms that Face ID will come to the 2018 iPad Pros — expected to debut on Oct. 30 — in both landscape and portrait modes.

Nestor Carbonell (Bates Motel, Lost) and Mark Duplass (The Mindy Project, The League) are set as series regulars opposite Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, and Steve Carell in Apple's untitled morning show drama series, notes Deadline.
