No iPad Pro required...
Not everyone who needs a stylus wants an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, so Wacom has introduced the new $79.95 Bamboo Sketch stylus that provides pressure sensitivity for writing and sketching on any compatible iPhone or iPad. At this point, it appears that those devices include anything newer than an iPhone 6 and what Wacom refers to as "older iPad generations."
The Bamboo Sketch has 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity and comes with both soft and firm interchangeable pen nibs. The stylus weighs just 18 grams (0.6 ounces), is 142mm (5.6 inches) long, and is 10 mm (0.4 inches) wide at its thickest point.
The rechargeable battery lasts for up to 15 hours of use, with a small magnetic USB adapter providing the ability to recharge. The Bamboo Sketch uses Bluetooth to connect to the iOS device, and there's a status indicator on the side of the stylus to show when the stylus and device are paired properly.
Bamboo Sketch currently works with Bamboo Paper, Autodesk SketchBook, ArtRage and Astropad. It will be available in June, and is supplied with a carry case.
