Apple Pay may debut soon in Poland

Several banks on the Polish market have been technically prepared to introduce Apple Pay for a long time now. Now the mobile payment service may be coming to the country soon, according to a Cashless article.

The banks — including Alior, BZ WBK and mBank — have implemented Mastercard or Visa's tokenization solutions. It's the technology used by Apple Pay.

“Now the only thing standing in the way of Apple Pay in Poland is establishing the financial conditions, that is the commission that banks would have to pay to Apple for mobile transactions performed by the banks’ customers using iPhones,” says Cashless.

Apple Pay is currently available in 20 countries: Australia, Canada, China, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, the UK, the U.S., Denmark, Finland, Sweden and the United Arab Emirates.
