Film buffs will find Reelgood a solid alternative to ‘Can I Stream It?’

Since the “Can I Stream It?” app has yet to be updated for iOS 11, movie buffs should check out Reelgood.

It’s a free website/app that lets you enter the name of a movie or TV show you'd like to see. It will search Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO, Showtime, Starz, Seeso, Mubi, IndixFlix, Film Struck, Fandor, AcornTV, CrunchyRoll, Cinemax, CBS All Access, and more to see if it's available for free streaming, digital rental, digital purchase or DVD/Blu-ray purchase.

Having a subscription to any of those channels with your cable or satellite TV package gets you access to their content online. You will have to log in with your cable or satellite account to view. The downside: iTunes isn’t listed among the supported sites/services.

For example, when I searched for Atomic Blonde, Reelgood told me it wasn’t yet available for streaming or rental. However, it is indeed available for rental or purchasing at the iTunes Store. However, when I searched for the 2007 film, The Orphanage, Reelgood had no problem discovering where I could rent or buy the movie (which, alas, isn’t available for non-rental streaming).

With Reelgood, you can track shows you watch and add movies you want to see.

Your “Watch Next” section will tell you when you have episodes to watch or movies to stream. You can also get notified when you can stream new episodes of shows you watch.

Currently, it’s a good app/service, but Reelgood will be real good when it provides iTunes store info.
