Jony Ive, Apple’s chief design officer, has created a one-of-a-kind range of iPad accessories, which will be sold at the upcoming “Time For Design” auction, proceeds of which will go towards the new Design Museum in Kensington, notes Wallpaper.
Pictured from left to right are a custom designed 12.9-inch iPad Pro, a unique “Smart Cover,” Apple Pencil and holder. Donated by the Apple Design Team, the items have an estimated value of £10,000 – £15,000.
Co-curated by Deyan Sudjic, the director of the Design Museum and Alexander Payne, worldwide director of Design at Phillips, Time for Design is both a live auction on April 28 and an online-only auction from April 7 to May 2. All profits from the sale will be donated to the Design Museum's capital campaign for its new home in Holland Park.
The Design Museum is a museum founded in 1989. It covers product, industrial, graphic, fashion and architectural design.
