Apple is "deprecating support" for QuickTime for Windows, and will no longer patch security flaws in the software. The company is also advising users to uninstall the media player from their Windows machines for security reasons.
This happened after Trend Micro discovered two critical flaws in the Windows build of QuickTime and reported them to Apple. In response, Trend told The Register, the Cupertino, California-based company said it won't fix the bugs.
QuickTime for Windows was last updated in January. As far as I know, QuickTime for Mac is still alive and well.
