Here’s another reason to upgrade from iOS 9.3 to iOS 9.3.1....

While iOS 9.3 fixed a bug that "bricked" iOS devices when the date was set to Jan. 1, 1970, and iOS 9.3.1 fixed flitches with iOS 9.3 there’s a variation on iOS 9.3 that can remotely brick later devices as soon as they connect to a WiFi hotspot, reports KrebsonSecurity.

Researchers say they’ve proven how easy it would be to automate the iOS bricking attack over a network, so that potential victims would need only to wander within range of a hostile wireless network to have their Apple devices turned into useless bricks. So if you haven’t upgraded to iOS 9.3.1, do so immediately.
