Apple has begun offering corporate customers in India two-year lease plans for the iPhone SE and iPad starting at 999 rupees (about $15) per month, reports The Economic Times. The Cupertino, California-based company is also offering iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S on similar leasing plans for two years at Rs 1,199 (about $18) and Rs 1,399 (about $20) a month, respectively.
Corporate users can, at anytime, move from one iPhone to another, and pay the change in monthly fee as per the model. Apple has had this model running in India for over a year, but the company “appears to be driving it this time around, given the increased India focus and great sales results the fastest growing smartphone market has produced last year,” according to The Economic Times.
Apple has also sought permission from the government in India to sell used iPhones in the country, according to The Times of India. "An application from Apple regarding import of certified pre-owned iPhones for sale in India and manufacturing certified pre-owned iPhones for sale in India has been received in the ministry of environment and forests," telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told the publication.
