Apple is playing ball with Major League Baseball

Take me out to the ballgame! Apple has signed a multiyear partnership deal with the Major League Baseball to supply each MLB team with 12.9-inch iPad Pro tablets and a custom app built by MLB's Advanced Media division and the Cupertino, California based company, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The partnership is meant to help MLB's coaching staff make better use of data. Teams will be able to sift through performance stats from current and past seasons, weigh potential pitcher-hitter match-ups, look at “spray charts” showing where a player is likely to hit the ball, watch videos of previous game plays, and more.
