Apple has rolled out tvOS 9.2, which, among other things, beefs up support for Siri, the company’s digital personal assistant. For example, you can use Siri to dictate text for search queries, usernames, and passwords.
With tvOS 9.2, you can group apps into folders. The upgrade also adds app switching capabilities. You can jump between recently opened apps by double-clicking Siri Remote’s TV button.
Video scrubbing has been improved. Now you must pause a video before scrubbing will work. Before if you accidentally swiped across the glass Touch Surface on the Siri Remote during video playback you might jump to another part of the film.
The Photos app now integrates with your iCloud Photo Library so you can see photos and videos uploaded from your other Apple devices.
To obtain tvOS 9.2 on your fourth gen Apple TV, go to Settings > System > Software Updates > Update Software. Download and install the upgrade — which may take a few minutes.
