Each week brings a handful of Apple rumors. Here’s what’s making the rounds this week (and my take on ‘em):
Immersive virtual reality experiences are expected to begin arriving on the iPhone this year, with the aid of new third-party hardware, Piper Jaffray Gene Munster told clients. The investment firm held a series of virtual reality panels this week including 13 companies in the field. One of them — IonVR — indicated they expect to have a VR headset for iPhone launching in the fall. Chances that this rumor is true (IMHO): 100%.
Whether or not it's accurate, one third-party case manufacturer is making a product assuming Apple's upcoming "iPhone 7" will ditch the legacy 3.5-millimeter headphone jack in favor of Lightning and Bluetooth only headphones/earphones. Chances that this rumor is true (IMHO): 100%.
Shipping times for Apple's Thunderbolt Display have slipped across Europe, once again stirring up hopes that a new model with 5K Retina display could be in the works. Chances that this rumor is true (IMHO): 90% (an updated Thunderbolt Display is loooooong overdue).
