Apple has added Watch ABC, the Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD. to the fourth generation Apple TV’s universal search and Siri search.
Watch ABC lets you, well, watch ABC programs, as well as buy ‘em on iTunes. The Disney Channel’s programming consists of original first-run television series, theatrically-released and original made-for-cable movies and select other third-party programming.
Disney Junior, aimed mainly at children under eight, has programming consists of original first-run television series, theatrically-released and made-for-DVD movies and select other third-party programming. Disney XD, aimed mainly at pre-teens, has programming consisting of original first-run television series, current and former original series and made-for-cable films from sister network Disney Channel, theatrically-released movies, and some live-action and animated programs from other distributors.
Apple has been expanding the supported services list since the new version of the set-top box launched in October. As well as the channel providers mentioned in this article, Apple has added Fox, National Geographic, FX Now, PBS and PBS Kids to the United States’ universal search. The complete channel list is now up to 15, including iTunes, HBO Go, HBO Now, Hulu, Netflix, PBS, PBS Kids, Showtime, Showtime Anytime, and Watch ABC.
