Since iOS 9 launched on September 16, analytics firm Mixpanel has been closely monitoring the adoption rate of the new OS by checking the version of devices running apps with Mixpanel's tracking code. Today, just 12 days after the launch of iOS 9, the new mobile operating system is running on 52.33 percent of all iOS devices.
iOS 8 is running on only 40.49 percent of iOS devices, while those devices stuck on iOS 7 or older operating systems make up just a tiny 7.18 percent. It's great to see that so many iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users feel that the new OS is stable and that the upgrade process is so painless. You can keep an eye on the adoption rate numbers yourself at this web page.
If you're one of the 40.49 percent, why haven't you switched to iOS 9? Let us know in the comments.
