Forget the Apple Car. I want an Apple Jetpack. According to CNET, Google X, the search giant's secret lab, once considered making a jetpack, but abandoned it due to a lack of practicality such as a too much noise and too little power.
Time for Apple to step up and show Google how it's done. Imagine the 2017 Worldwide Developer Conference when Tim Cook jet-packs onto the stage for the keynote. All that "he's no Steve Jobs" talk would vanish forever.
Jony Ive could certainly come up with a breath-taking design. As for the battery life issue, that is a problem. But look at all the progress Apple has made with batteries in its iDevices and laptops. Heck, maybe Apple could buy Tesla, the electric car company (as the rumor mill has long claimed would happen), and take advantage of its battery advancements.
As for the noise issue, our favorite tech companies has filed a few patents regarding noise cancellation, such as this patent number 8515089. (Sure, the patents involve iPhones, but, hey, I never said this would be easy.)
So, forget Google. Let Apple show how making jetpacks is done. An Apple Car? CarPlay? Child's play, I say. JetPlay on my Apple Jetpack is what I'm talking about.
