Hi, I’m Steve Sande from Apple World Today, and this is the AWT News Update for August 13, 2015. Just a quick one today since I spent most of the day helping my elderly parents. Yeah, I’m that kinda guy…
One of the favorite hobbies of all tech bloggers is to make endless fun of Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster. Gene has been wrong on many occasions about product intros, and is well-known for his years of asking Apple executives about the fabled large-screen TV project during earnings calls. Well, today he’s back, saying that maybe, just maybe a new Apple TC with Siri, HomeKit and an Apple TV app store will drop on September 9th. Take this with a large grain of salt. Oh, and other sources are now saying that Apple’s TV service is on hold until 2016.
If you’re in Germany, you can already pre-order an iPhone 6s. German carrier Deutsche Telekom has a special “online reservation service” for customers who want to be first in a virtual line for the new phone or phones. When registering online, customers enter contact info, redeem a ticket via SMS or email, and then tell Deutsche Telekom what their preferred delivery service is. It’s on a first-come, first-served basis and this is a great way to avoid lines on launch day, whenever that may be.
We’ll be back tomorrow afternoon with another edition of the AWT News Update.
