A new mobile shopping report from Crittercism — a mobile app intelligence platform provider with customers like Macy's, eBay, Etsy and Groupon— found that iOS shopping and lifestyle app loads doubled (from 4 million to 8 million) this year from the day before Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday.
More iOS users mobile-shopped on Black Friday (with 13 percent increase in app downloads) versus Cyber Monday (with a 5 percent increase in app downloads). While mobile shopping in 2014 saw peaks and valleys during the shopping holidays, 2015 is shaping up to be more of a shopping season, with mobile shopping consistently high, according to Crittercism.
The platform’s data corresponds with Comscore’s prediction that mobile spending on Black Friday 2015 would increase by 47 percent. IBM Watson’s report underestimated the impact, saying that smartphone traffic increased by only half the amount Crittercism reported — to about 29 percent.
