On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they're popular and deserve mention. Here are today's picks for iOS, tvOS, and Mac OS X:
mix1009 has announced Photo Cleaner 1.0. It’s a $2.99 app that deletes the video portion of Live Photos to reclaim space on iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices. While the new Live Photos feature of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus is fun to use, Live Photos can take up twice the storage space of regular photos. Photo Cleaner deletes the video portion of the new photo format, leaving only the still photo, reclaiming storage space.
Molfar Studios has released Wonky Booth - Liquify and Make Funny Photo. It lets you modify the basic templates and create unique caricatures. You can extend, expand, shrink, or move any part of the photo.
Scott Phillips has introduced Trial 57 1.0. It’s a free game that tasks the user to test their problem solving abilities in order to complete each level.
Kimico has launched MusicBuddy 7.6.0, an update of the $4.99 music management app designed specifically for the iPhone and iPod touch. It lets you build your entire music library by scanning the barcodes printed on your albums. No additional desktop application or online service is required. With this release, users can access their entire music catalog anywhere using their iPhone or iPod touch.
Mac OS X Apps/Updates
Mireth Technology Corp. has released version 4.8.7 of NetShred X, its Internet eraser app that erases browsing data: internet cache, history, mail and more.
The upgrade adds support for Firefox 42. NetShred X is designed to run automatically, without user intervention. Since erasing temporary internet files can take some time, its runs in the background.
NetShred X is available for immediate download, or on CD-ROM, starting at $24.95 for an annual subscription. Educational pricing and volume discounts are available. NetShred X runs on Mac OS X 10.3 and higher.
