Bloomberg today announced the third annual "The Year Ahead: 2016" Summit, an “intimate gathering of today's most powerful business leaders and industry influencers from around the world.” Angela Ahredts, Apple’s senior vice president of retail and online stores, will be one of the speakers.
The event will be held Nov. 9-10 in New York City. Providing forward-looking insight on the industries, companies, products, people, and trends poised to emerge over the course of next year, "The Year Ahead: 2016" is designed to help global executives get ahead of the challenges their businesses will face in the months to come.
The Summit is produced by Bloomberg LIVE, the company's global events business, and is part of Bloomberg's "The Year Ahead" franchise that leverages Bloomberg's deep business, financial, political, and data heritages across its multiple media channels. In addition to the Summit, the franchise includes a special issue of Bloomberg Businessweek, a list of the "50 Companies to Watch in 2016," immersive digital content, and special programming on Bloomberg TV and Bloomberg Radio.
In September it was announced that Anrendts had placed 16th on FORTUNE's "Most Powerful Women" list. Here's what FORTUNE says about Anrendts:
"Just over a year into her tenure as Apple’s retail chief, the former CEO of Burberry is making her mark on the $183 billion tech giant. Ahrendts spearheaded the retail launch of the Apple Watch, which has received mixed reviews. Her other focus has been integrating Apple’s online and retail divisions, as well as expanding its China presence. She’s being paid well to do it: The first woman on Apple’s management team took home a package valued at $73.4 million in cash and stock in 2014."
