Apple is working to address user complaints of sluggishness in the App Store and iCloud in China, CEO Tim Cook told Chinese media during his visit to Beijing. The company plans to set up more servers in the country, according to the Chinese language website, My Drivers (as noted by BrightWire, a global investment newswire).
Apple App Store downloads set a record in China in the third quarter. Growth in China in terms of iOS app downloads and revenue is ahead of all other countries, according to a report by App Annie, which delivers data and insights in the app economy.
Some 1.5 million developers in China are working on iOS-related projects, according to China Daily. iOS app developers increased 56 percent last year, and iOS-based project development has created 1.4 million jobs, almost half of Apple's 4.4 million jobs in China, the newspaper adds.
