Analyst: you’ll have to pay more for the iPhone 14 than for the iPhone 13

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says expect to fork out more moolah for the iPhone 14 than you did for the iPhone 13, though he doesn’t mention specific prices.

“Hon Hai/Foxconn is one of the winners of the increased ASP of iPhone 14 series,” he tweets. “I estimated iPhone 14 series ASP would increase by about 15% (vs. iPhone 13 series ASP) to $1,000-1,050 (USD) due to two iPhone 14 Pro’s price hikes & higher shipment proportion.”

The iPhone 14 line-up is expected to debut in September or October. Among the rumors about the smartphone update:

° Apple will use different grades of OLED panels (made by Samsung Display) between the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro.

° Apple make its latest A16 processor exclusive to the Pro models in the iPhone 14 lineup.

° At least some of the models will be eSIM-only.

° The ‌iPhone 14 Pro‌ will contain 8GB of RAM.

° Some will sport 120GHz displays.

° The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models will have a hole + pill design.

° The top two models have also have OLED screens.

° They will support the Wi-Fi 6E standard.

° Black, white, blue, red and purple will be the color options for the iPhone 14, while graphite, gold, silver and purple will be available on the iPhone 14 Pro.
