Apple News Items You Should Check out: Aug. 10

Since I can’t cover everything, I like to offer a daily round-up of must-read articles from some other great websites. To wit:

° From CNBC: Behind the scenes, the Apple Card’s rapid growth and the new platform built by Goldman Sachs to service it created difficulties, resulting in failures more reminiscent of a traditional issuer than a customer-first disruptor, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

° From MacRumors: Apple’s Beats brand today is announcing a collaboration with Kim Kardashian for three new colors of Beats Fit Pro wireless earbuds. The three new neutral colors will be available online at starting next Tuesday, August 16, and via select Apple Store locations and authorized resellers as of the following day.

° From Macworld: Bad news for everyone who got annoyed when 30-pin was replaced by Lightning, and when Lightning was replaced by USB-C: it looks like Apple is once again planning to unveil a new connector port when it launches its next set of iPad Pros.

° From AppleInsider: Following the withdrawal of a premature announcement by Malaysia’s AmBank, Apple has now officially launched Apple Pay in the country.

° From iMore: Dan Erickson, the creator of Apple’s smash-hit thriller “Severance” says he’d like to pitch Barack Obama for a role in season 2 of the show if he’s at the Emmys.

° From MacVoices Live! On the new episode, the MacVoices Live! panel of Chuck Joiner, Jeff Butts, David Ginsburg, Warren Sklar, Jeff Gamet, Jim Rea, and Andrew Orr start off with a report on Macstock Conference & Expo by those who were able to attend, and covered how, even if you weren’t there, you will be able to benefit from the presentations.
