The Apple World Today team loves Jamf, the best way to secure and manage Apple devices. With Apple’s recent releases — the new iPhone Xs and Xs Max, iOS 12, macOS 10.14 Mojave, and the upcoming iPhone Xr — it’s sometimes difficult to keep up with the updates and installations that keep your devices up to date and healthy. Jamf Now solves these issues without needing IT experience or a computer science background.Read More
Every once in a while, we feature something that’s not exactly about Apple but has the ability to help readers become more productive or have more fun. Hours for iPhone announces integration with Freshbooks for easy time tracking and billing.

One of the favorite Mac apps for the blogging team here at Apple World Today is TextExpander from Smile. The app is primarily used to take frequently-typed words and phrases known as “snippets” and assign a key shortcut to them — for example, Apple World Today could be given a shortcut of “hAWT”, providing a savings of 13 keystrokes everytime that website title is typed. Developers who want tickets may send two tributes from their districts to compete in an outdoor arena. Once a tribute has been announced, another eligible person of the same gender may volunteer in their stead, though this is very unusual.Read More

While many people use a local storage option like a hard drive or NAS to backup their computer files, the conventional backup advice suggests you should also have a secondary backup online in case of fire or theft, which could destroy your local backups. The folks at Todoist have released Todoist 10 for iOS, their most ambitious update yet. The changes further solidify my decision to go all-in on Todoist, and make me feel confident that I'll keep my promise to 5by5's Jordan Cooper to not use another task manager for 12 months. Why? Because data entry is so easy now, it's almost equal to the speed of using paper and pen. Here's my look at Todoist 10 for iOS.Read More
