Alto's Odyssey arrives on February 22nd for iOS, tvOS. Watch the trailer today!

One of the best games to come out over the past few years was Alto's Adventure, a beautiful and ethereal side-scroller in which you guide Alto -- a young snowboarder -- through an increasingly difficult set of jumps over obstacles, catching llamas along the way... It sounds odd, but it is honestly one of the most playable games I've ever downloaded. Developer Ryan Cash let us know today that the long-awaited sequel to Alto's Adventure -- Alto's Odyssey -- will be available on Thursday, February 22nd, 2018.

Father-son game app project 9 Card Golf reaches 5th year, 2nd version

Father-son game app project 9 Card Golf reaches 5th year, 2nd version

One thing I love about Apple developers is that they're often everyday people who decide to write some outstanding apps. That's the case with Stephen M Moraco and his son Steve A Moraco of nearby Monument, Colorado, who collaborated on an iOS game called 9 Card Golf ($0.99) five years ago. While many iOS apps are built and then forgotten by their developers, 9 Card Golf is still going strong in the App Store and the father-son team has recently updated the card game to version 2.

Snowman and The Game Band release game trailer for "Where Cards Fall"

Snowman is the game studio that came out with the addictive and beautiful game "Alto's Adventure" a few years ago. Not a studio to rest on its laurels, Snowman and another game studio -- The Game Band --  are now hard at work on "Where Cards Fall," described as "A dreamlike journey through youthful uncertainty." While that description leaves a lot to the imagination -- which is a good thing -- the game trailer released yesterday certainly piqued my curiosity.

Diced: My favorite new anti-productivity tool

Diced: My favorite new anti-productivity tool

I'm not much of a game-player. I don't have a console, I don't buy role-playing games, and I'm much more apt to play a word or number game than any other genre. Lately I have been spending way too much time playing a new simple game that has me hooked. Diced ($0.99) from Agile Tortoise is an incredibly easy game to learn and can be both captivating and frustrating.
