Notable apps and updates: July 29

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

macOS

Feral Interactive has announced that The Silence & The Fury, the final Lords Pack for Total War: WARHAMMER II, is out now for macOS.

Here’s how it’s described: The Silence & The Fury introduces new Legendary Lords for the Lizardmen and the Beastmen, each leading their own factions with new characters and units, as well as unique gameplay mechanics and narrative objectives.

A feature-packed free update to Total War: WARHAMMER II for macOS is also available today, including reworks to the Beastmen and Dwarfen factions, a new Dawi Legendary Lord, and the introduction of Ogre Mercenaries for Total War Access Members.

Choose your side and take to battle once more in The Silence & The Fury, available now on Steam for US$9.99.

iOS

FutureTap has released Where To? 11.0, an update to their local search app for iOS and Apple Watch devices.

It provides a way to find the closest steakhouse, bank branch, billiard club, or anything else you might be looking for. You can see your options on the built-in map, in a list sorted by distance or in augmented reality. In its biggest update in history, Where To? 11 adds new features and moves to a freemium business model.

The app is now free to download, and the standard feature set is free. A Where To? PRO subscription is available at $2.99/year with a one-week free trial available. The subscription is required for the following premium features: AR, directions, favorites & collections and location reminders. Existing users who purchased the app receive a free, lifetime Where To? PRO subscription.
