Notable apps and app updates for May 3, 2016

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they're popular and deserve mention. Here are today's picks.

iOS Apps/Updates for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Tasa Graphic Arts has introduced Plate Tectonics Visual Glossary and Atlas 1.0. It’s a $1.99 comprehensive glossary of terms and definitions related to plate tectonics with visuals that include illustrations, animations, photos, and videos. The app provides a visual experience that encourages discovery by exploration of Earth's surface. Using a 3D globe with surface maps that show Earth's geologic features, terms are related to the features that are a direct result of the motion of tectonic plates.

The Clash Soft has launched VideoSpoty 1.0.2 for iOS. It’s a $0.99 tool for playing music videos from your Spotify playlists. VideoSpoty allows you to watch music videos on a device or on a TV using a Google Chromecast dongle.

Mac OS X Apps/Updates

equinux has released Mail Designer Pro 2.6 for OS X with expanded Mobile Preview and automatic preflight link check.

The app lets you create and optimize responsive HTML newsletters for the newest Apple devices. The Mobile Preview in Mail Designer Pro simulates in real time how your newsletter appears on a smartphone or tablet. Mail Designer Pro 2.6 now includes a Mobile Preview for the iPhone SE and the iPad Pro (12,9" and 9,7"). In order to view the simulation for the larger sized iPad Pro on a MacBook Air, the Mobile Preview can now be scaled down making it possible to optimize newsletters for all mobile devices.

MailButler, the Apple Mail assistant by Feingeist Software GmbH, has added a new feature on its list. 

It's called Follow-Up, and it allows users to schedule a follow-up reminder that will notify them when there is no response to a particular email. Once the email is written, the user can just tell MailButler when he wants to be reminded, and the notification will appear on his preferred date and time. MailButler simplifies, optimizes and streamlines working with emails.

The app requires Mac OS X 10.10 or later. A demo is available for download; registration is $8.95.

tvOS Apps/Updates for the Apple TV

RunServer has debuted Liquid Pinball 1.0.1 for the Apple TV. The free game hallenges players to conquer 60 levels in five scenarios of varying difficulty. In these levels player moves and colors the liquids tilting the game field with the Siri Remote and game controller.
