Have some favorite PlayStation games you wish you could play on the iPhone? Sony today announced that it will bring some titles to iPhone, initially focused at gamers in Asia (and more specifically, in Japan).
To do this, Sony has formed a new company named ForwardWorks, which the company says "will leverage the intellectual property of the numerous PlayStation dedicated software titles and its gaming characters, as well as the knowledge and know-how of gaming development expertise."
ForwardWorks is tasked with bringing gamers the ability to "casually enjoy full-fledged game titles," and the division will also "deploy new services" on iOS and Android. Sony follows Nintendo into the iOS gaming world, which released an iPhone game "Miimoto" to the Japanese market earlier this month.
Sony seems to be getting a bit more Apple-friendly. Last fall, the company said that it has plans to let PlayStation 4 gamers stream titles to Macs using the Remote Play feature. Remote Play uses a local Internet connection to stream gameplay video that's processed by the PlayStation console.
