Welcome to Rumorville, Planet Earth. It's the place where photos show things that could very well be part of new Apple devices, or just well-photoshopped facsimiles. Today's entry comes via Chinese social network Weibo and German rumor site iPhone Ticker and purports to show the back of a box for the 4-inch iPhone to be announced on Monday, otherwise known as the "iPhone SE".

The image shows several things that could very well be included with or in a new device; for example, the box shows EarPods (meaning that the new phone will most likely stick with the 3.5mm headphone jack) and of course the necessary Apple Lightning to USB Cable. The packaging also shows the usual networks -- CDMA, GSM, UMTS, etc... NFC -- near field communication -- is included as well, a necessity for the device to be able to use Apple Pay.

But the biggest concern? That it's showing a base storage of just 16GB. Do you know anyone who would be happy with 16GB of storage on a new smartphone? Between the falling price of storage and the ever-increasing storage needs of users, I find a 16GB model highly unlikely -- especially if the 4-inch iPhone comes with a 12-megapixel rear camera.

The new phone will finally be unveiled on Monday at the Apple "Let Us Loop You In" event that begins at 10 AM PDT on March 21. We'll be liveblogging the event here at Apple World Today, and you can also watch the livestream from Cupertino
