Apple renews its ‘Think Different’ trademark

Don’t look for new versions of the iconic “Think Different” ads, but Apple has renewed its trademark for the slogan for the first time since 2009 with a new European Patent and Trademark Office filing.

Patently Apple reports that Apple has expanded the various “international classes” covered by the trademark from one to eight. Apple can now claim to “think different” with regards to the Apple Watch, Apple Pay, Apple Pencil, iPad, Siri, and games, business management, subscription services, telecommunications, broadcasting, music, television, and educational services services.

"Think different" was an advertising slogan for Apple in 1997 created by the TBWA/Chiat/Day ad agency. It was used in a TV commercial, several print advertisements, and a number of TV promos for Apple products. The use of the slogan ended in 2002.
