Notable apps and app updates for Feb. 26, 2016

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they're popular and deserve mention. Here are today's picks for Mac OS X and iOS.

Mac OS X Apps/Updates

Writes for All has introduced File Cabinet Pro, a file manager for the OS X menubar. 

File Cabinet Pro allows users to open, move, rename, tag, trash, copy and paste files, all from a popover window that appears from the menubar. It also lets you place files in iCloud Drive without opening windows in the Finder.

File Cabinet Pro costs US$29.99. It’s available worldwide exclusively at the App Tyrant website.

iOS Apps/Updates for the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch

LadyPlans has launched LadyPlans 1.0. It’s a free (for a limited time) time andtask management app for women by women. It’s based on lists and links between events and checklists, as well as “women-centric”content and design.

Pyxwise Software has announced Simplex Spelling Phonics - Advanced Phonograms 3.0.1, an update to its $4.99 interactive phonics-based spelling app. Aimed at children of all ages, it focuses on teaching advanced concepts in spelling using a combination of phonics and Pyxwise's reverse phonics approach that acts like a personal spelling coach. Version 3.0.1 adds more lessons and new spelling lists.
