Notable apps and app updates for Feb. 1, 2016

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they're popular and deserve mention. Here are today's picks for Mac OS X and iOS.

Mac OS X Apps/Updates

Mosa Motion Graphics has introduced Green Screen Pro 1.0 for OS X. It’s a helper app that brings 3D and 2D motion effects to iMovie and Final Cut Pro users. 

You can drag and drop into any video project. With its library of 100+ green screen CGI clips, anyone can create amazing transition animations, knock-off animations of iPhone, YouTube, FaceBook, Instagram and more.

Green Screen Pro 1.0 costs $9.99 and requires Mac OX 10.9 or later. It’s available worldwide through the Mac App Store in the Video category. All clips are royalty free, license prohibits resale.

Reggie Ashworth has announced AppDelete 4.2.3, an update to his application deletion utility for Mac OS X. 

Via drag and drop, it will uninstall anything along with all of the associated items. Version 4.2.3 is an El Capitan optimized version that adds Cancel buttons to the Genius/Orphans dialogs, has a trash package that now features the AppDelete icon, and includes miscellaneous bug fixes and other optimizations. 

AppDelete 4.2.3 is compatible with OS X 10.7 and higher. It costs $7.99 for a single user license. Upgrades from Version 2/AppDelete Lite are$3.99 (USD). A full-featured demo is available. Version 3 licenses without a serial number are also eligible for the upgrade.

iOS Apps/Updates for the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch

Audience Apps Developers has introduced Stick Robo Hero 1.0. In the adventure game, the player's goal is to score as high as he/she can by rolling a robot from one platform to the next. To do this, they must stretch their stick so that when it falls, the platforms are connected and the robot lands safely. The game is ad-supported with an in-app purchase to remove them for $1.99.

SenseLabs has unveiled SenseSleep 1.0. It’s a free fitness app that offers controlled breathing exercises to help your brain easily enter a more relaxed, sleepy state. By monitoring your heart rate while guiding you through breathing exercises, SenseSleep is designed to lower your heart rate, calm your brainwaves, and prepare your body for rest.

Sinusoid has announced Sonocord 1.4. It’s a $2.99 app for birders and birdwatchers that can record short audio tracks, edit them, and display the sonogram of the audio. Large numbers of calls and songs can be stored on an iOS device and viewed as a sonogram immediately or reviewed at a later time. Sonograms are used for identifying birds by their calls and song. New in version 1.4 is the ability to play the track within the track listing, as well as other features.

Black Cloud Studios has released Fall of Gyes 1.0.2. Based on the science fiction kinetic novel, After Reset, the game is set in a claustrophobic atmosphere where no one knows exactly what is happening or who the enemy is until disaster strikes.

KLNK has introduced Cat Crisis: Arcade Shooter 1.0.2. In the free app, gamers represent the earth's last, best hope to rid the planet of an occupation by hyper-intelligent, thoroughly hostile cats. The invading cats have donned food helmets, including bread, watermelons, and more as well as armed to the teeth. Up to nine gamers can experience co-operative, simultaneous gameplay.

Bouwoltt has launched Football Faceoff 1.0.1. It puts your knowledge about football to the test with a quiz including more than 7,000 questions spread out between 19 categories. This game allows you to compete against your friends and people from around the world, as well as track your progress and climb the FOFA World Ranking. Football Face-off is available in a free and $3.27 version.
