‘Spoken Editions’ podcasts now available at iTunes

Podcasts branded “Spoken Editions,” short-form programs that offer listeners an audio version of the publisher’s written content, are down available at iTunes. They allow you to “read” your favorite website or hear the news when you’re doing other things.

Spoken Editions of WIRED News, TIME, Bustle News, Slate, and more are available. TechCrunch says that, apparently, many of the publishers' Spoken Edition podcasts were created by SpokenLayer, a company that creates streaming audio and podcasts for media brands using text.
