CES: new smart home products work with the Apple Watch, HomeKit

At this week’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, two companies announced smart home products that work with the Apple Watch and Apple’s HomeKit.

Schlage announced new features for the Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt and showcased the new Schlage Control Smart Locks for multi-family properties. Launching later this year, new features for the Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt include a Schlage Sense app for the Apple Watch. The Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt is now compatible with Apple HomeKit and allows users to control their door locks as part of their connected homes.

Ooma, Inc., a smart business and home communications platform, today announced that its Ooma Telo home phone service now integrates with even more connected devices and services, including the Apple Watch. Incoming calls on your Ooma Telo generate a real-time push notification of the caller-ID on the smartwatch. You can also receive a push notification on your iOS or Android devices when you receive a new voicemail, or get a visual alert on your Philips Hue, WeMo or LIFX light bulbs.
