Notable apps and app updates for Dec. 30, 2015

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they're popular and deserve mention. Here are today's picks for Mac OS X and iOS.

Mac OS X Apps/Updates

Tim Parnell has announced Answers 1.1.6, an update to his FAQ and Help documentation tool for Mac OS X. It’s designed to help users write help documents.

Using a content-based approach you can make a help book or FAQ. You can create your text, then select a sleek theme to stylize your work. Version 1.1.6 is now a 64-bit app.

Answers 1.1.6 is available now. There’s a free version and a more fully featured, $29 pro version.

iOS Apps/Updates

Salman Rajput, Annie Tuan, and Carly Carlin have introduced SimpleSteps 1.0. The goal of the free health-based app is to get people to eat healthier and actually stick with it by helping them make simple, achievable changes over time. SimpleSteps breaks down health goals into easy steps.

Global Delight has announced Vizmato 3.0.1, an update of the free suite of tools to enhance, improve, customize and share videos — either in real-time while they're recording in HD, or during post-production editing. Users can also access Vizmato's movie and clip features, including a split screen option to create or play multiple videos simultaneously, the ability to cut and join up to 10 clips, and so more.

eFusion ha released Voice Recorder HD 9.0.1, an update to their $0.99 voice recorder app for iOS devices. Designed for business, audio professional, sound engineer, journalist, lecturer, school/college student and anyone else who needs to manage voice memos, the tool lets you record HQ audio, organize and share voice memos with simplicity. Version 9.0.1 includes an Apple Watch extension of the app.
