Notable apps and app updates for Dec. 14, 2015

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they're popular and deserve mention. Here are today's picks for Mac OS X and iOS.

Mac OS X Apps/Updates

Everdow has introduced EverdowPSI 1.0, a cloud-based inventory management package for Mac OS X. Designed for small-medium enterprises, it offers real-time inventory, sales revenue and purchasing information.

EverdowPSI offers a real-time display of daily sales, month sales and previous month sales information; monthly cost and previous monthly cost information. Users can track and tally purchased goods and outbound inventory, automatically generating reports. Via the System Menu, administrators can set up user groups, as well as individual users, and apply various levels of permissions and access for each user. Admins can manage passwords, and view the activity of each user.

EverdowPSI requires OS X 10.10 or later. It costs US$999.99 and is available worldwide exclusively through the Mac App Store in the Business category.

Spike Software has announced Audio Switcher 2.5.6, the latest update to its menubar applet utility developed exclusively for Mac OS X. 

It enhances the built-in behavior of OS X's Sound Preferences by allowing you switch audio devices from the menu bar. Audio Switcher also allows you to set up default input/output devices. Version 2.5.6 now lists the name of the input/output source of connected devices instead of Default Output or Built-In Input.

Audio Switcher 2.5.6 costs $4.99 and is available worldwide through the Mac App Store in the Utilities category. Current users can receive the free update via the Mac Store.

iOS Apps/Updates

Ultralab has released Xmas Cam 1.0. It’s a photo editing app that turns photos into colorful Christmas greeting cards. Xmas Cam features a selection of Christmas stickers and decorations, including numerous wreaths, baubles, snowflakes, bells and bows as well as warm wishes. Greetings, frames and objects can be applied to a single photo in any quantity. Xmas Cam is free, but a variety of extra sticker sets can also be downloaded through in-app purchases.

Interactive Coconut has introduced Grabble Words! 1.0. It’s a free two-player game in which you ake turns to find a word from the pool of letters, or grab a word from your opponent, by adding letters to the word. When the tiles run out the player with the highest letter score wins.

1Games has launched 4Force Online 1.0. It’s a free raid action game in which players in four camps hunt gigantic monsters in the Hell Gate and demon dungeon. The combat is focused on one of four groups: trolls, barbarians, dwarfs, and Kknights, each with their own distinct characteristics.

Audacious Software has announced Santas Map to Christmas 1.0.2. The $0.99 app illustrates and charts beloved Christmas stories, giving yuletide enthusiasts a way to enjoy their most cherished tales. Automatic updates retrieve new stories, illustrations, and maps daily.

VigStore has rolled out VigCal 1.2, a smart organizer suite developed for iOS/Watch OS/OSX. It’s a tool for managing appointments, tasks and notes. VigCal is available in a free version and a $9.99 version.

Natteria has launched Shopping, Saving and Sharing the Easy Way 1.1. The free app combines instant messenger and online shopping features. Users search for items, save them, share deals instantly within the app or popular social networks, and purchase items.

E-protect has updated Landlordy, its $11.99 app for private landlords, to version version 1.4 update. It tracks rent payments and expenses, provides instant financial reports, helps to prepare and send rental invoices and payment receipts to tenants and reminds for payments, expenses and invoices due as well as upcoming lease agreement renewals.

MobiBlossom Solutions has upgraded FabSwapp, their free item swapping app, to version 1.5.2. It leverages the “paying it forward” style of bartering. Version 1.5.2 offers a number of enhancements and bug fixes.
