Notable apps and app updates for November 23, 2015

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they're popular and deserve mention. Here are today's picks for Mac OS X and iOS.

Mac OS X Apps/Updates

Cocoatech has announced Path Finder 7.3, a free update of their file browser for Mac OS X. The update includes a long requested feature: Saved Searches.

Path Finder allows you to view hidden files, compare, merge and synchronize folders, batch rename and batch select files, use Dual Pane and full keyboard navigation to browse your file system and more. With version 7.3, you can save search results and criteria as smart folder. It also has improved discovery of SMB/CIFS shares/volumes in the local network, as well as performance and stability tweaks.

Path Finder 7.3 requires Mac OS X 10.7 or higher. A 30-day demo is available for download. Registration is normally $39.95 for a single user license applicable for up to three user-owned computers. However, to celebrate the software’s 14th anniversary Cocoatech is offering 35 percent OFF the regular price. Use the coupon code ANNIVERSARY at the Cocoatech online store to get the discount, which is available until the end of November.

128bit Technologies has served up Candy Apple 1.8, an update to their vector based graphic design and illustration app for Mac OS X.

It allows you to create drawings, logos, banners, buttons, icons and more. Version 1.8 fixes a printing issue that would only partially print the design.

Candy Apple requires Mac OS X 10.6.8 or higher available on both the Mac App Store and the MacAppware website for a limited time discount of $14.99. That’s a savings of 50 percent off the full price of $29.99.

Crosscoded has released Aura 1.2.0, an update to the Mac app for Gmail. Aura is the “missing link” between a web app and a native client for Gmail users, with support for up to six accounts, global hotkeys, native notifications, selective notifications for important messages and per-account unread message counts in your menubar.

Version 1.2.0 adds support for Mac OS X El Capitan. It also now gives users global hotkeys for creating new e-mails, open e-mail links in your default e-mail account and more.

Aura 1.2.0 requires Mac OS X Yosemite or El Capitan. It’s free (but does offer in-app purchases) and is and available at the Mac App Store in the Productivity category.

Eltima Software has launched Commander One 1.2, the latest version of their dual-pane file manager for OS X. Version 1.2 migrates to Swift 2.0 and is compatible with El Capitan.

Commander One 1.2 is compatible with OS X 10.9 and higher. The app is available in two editions - free and paid. The latter is known as Pro Pack and costs $29.95. Both editions are available for download from Eltima's website.

Wizappo has announced TouchOnes 1.1. In the $0.99 game, players must touch 25 numbered tiles in order as quickly as they can.
